In honor of National Read-a-Book day, we thought it would be fun to find out what the Anthony's team is reading and loving right now. While there are so many great books and our personal reading lists have now grown immensely, in the list below you will find the top books that we will be curling up with on this Read-a-Book day.

With a benefits list that includes mental stimulation, stress reduction, education and memory improvement just to name a few (plus no negative side effects!), reading should be an everyday celebration.

Kristin A., E-Commerce Manager

What book are you reading?:
"Well to be honest I am reading several books right now, but probably the most notable and a favorite for the year is A Path Appears by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn."

Why did you select that book?:
"I have always been a huge fan of Nicholas Kristof's column in the NY Times and absolutely loved Kristof and WuDunn's first book Half the Sky, which is a powerful book made into a documentary covering women's issues around the world. Naturally, when I could get my hands on A Path Appears (it is always checked out at the library), I was ready to dive in."

So why are you recommending A Path Appears?:
"Well I am only halfway through it, so I cannot say that I recommend the entire book, but I love the half of it so far. While Half of the Sky, which I also highly recommend, was incredibly eye opening and brought to life many of the struggles faced by women and girls around the world, A Path Appears definitely has a more positive and uplifting overall theme. The book covers individuals and groups across the globe that are working to make the world a better place. It follows so many successful initiatives and stories about real heroes, which only confirms the idea that we as individuals do have the power to make a difference. I'm not even finished with the book yet and I'm compelled to take some action. Simply put, this book is a beacon of hope and I cannot recommend Kristof and WuDunn's books enough."

What book are you reading?:
"I'm actually in between books and I just ordered two new books online (can't wait!), but I recently finished A Story Lately Told by Anjelica Huston and have to say it was phenomenal."

Why were you drawn to read that book?:
"To start, I have always admired her as a woman of unconventional beauty and strength. She definitely inspires me with her many layers and her ease and ability to play so many roles, including though not limited to, actress, Broadway director and accomplished equestrian. When I saw that she had a biography I was curious to get a little more insight into her life."

So why are you recommending A Story Lately Told?:
The story is powerful and it really dives into the details of an interesting life. If you like biographies or have any interest in reading about the fascinating lives of the famous, you will love this book. I recommend it because she really shares vivid details into her upbringing and background on her famous father, John Huston. It is amazing to understand and see how her childhood shaped her into the person she is today, most commonly seen as a woman of great integrity and wistfulness.

What book are you reading?:
"I am almost finished with The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niggenegger, so if you have read it or seen the movie, don't tell me what happens!"

Why were you drawn to read the book?:
"I am not sure I would say that I was specifically drawn to read the book, but it had been recommended to me so many times that I finally caved and decided to read it. Now I know why it has been so highly recommended and understand what I've been missing."

So why are your recommending The Time Traveler's Wife?:
"This book is addicting. The author has so cleverly woven this story together that it can be categorized as one of those books that you cannot put down. I must say that you have to be willing to pay attention; you cannot read it passively, as it is a challenge to follow the main character's "time traveling disorder." The story is moving, passionate and wonderfully emotional (warning: you may cry). It is rare to find a book that is written so exquisitely and if I say any more I'll be giving too much away. All I will say is this, if you haven't read it, you need to."

We hope you enjoyed out list of great reads and hope that you will find the time on Sunday to do a little reading of your own. Let us know what you are reading and loving!
