Are you hooked on “Downton Abbey” like I am? I love the style, grandeur and intrigue of the PBS drama, and now that the Crawley family has entered the 1920s, I also love the clothes. Lady Mary Crawley has embraced the shorter hair and flirty style of the flapper era, when ladies tossed away their corsets and donned dresses that moved when they walked and showed off a little leg.
A popular actress of the ‘20s, Louise Brooks – known for her bob and her bangs -- often wore dresses with layers of satin, all the better to bounce while she did the Charleston.
I’m reminded of Lady Mary and Louise when I wear my tiered tankini tops from Anthony’s swimwear collection.

Take a tour of the historic Boca Raton Resort & Club. Addison Mizner’s mid-1920s masterpiece has evolved over the decades, but it’s still as colorful and fascinating as a flapper’s costume. On the second and fourth Tuesday through May at 2 p.m., the Boca Raton Historical Society leads a tour through the historic grand hotel. It’s $15 per person.
